The pre-SHIFT orientation day is offered to any student who may benefit from the additional support of an early introduction to the post-secondary environment.A morning and afternoon session will be offered (students only have to attend one of these sessions) in which staff from Academic Accommodation Support will review the schedule for SHIFT, prepare students for SHIFT week, and offer both campus and Student Learning Centre tours. This dynamic program of on-campus orientation activities and workshops is all about connection.Applications are reviewed by the appropriate medical, psychological, and/or professional staff.When a request is processed, the student will be notified of its status, and if approved, will receive an appropriate housing assignment based on vacancies available in housing at that time.The TASC test design includes accessible formats and allowable resources that are available to all examinees.All examinees with a documented need may apply for special testing accommodations.Any concerns I had, they put my mind at ease, which was very comforting.
